Transfers42 Now Accepts USDC: What It Means for Custom Printing Customers

Small Business, Big Tech: Why We’re Embracing Stablecoin Payments

By Matt Harvey, Little 6 Industries | Published: July 2026

A Quick Announcement

Starting today, Transfers42 accepts USDC (USD Coin) as a payment method at checkout. If you don’t know what that means, you’re not alone. If you do know what it means, welcome to the future of small business payments.

Here’s what happened, why we did it, and what it means for you as a customer.

What Is USDC?

USDC stands for USD Coin. It’s a type of cryptocurrency called a “stablecoin”—meaning its value is pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. One USDC always equals one US dollar. It’s issued by Circle, backed by actual dollar reserves, and moves on blockchain networks (specifically Base, a fast payment network built by Coinbase).

Think of it like this: It’s a digital dollar. Not Bitcoin (which fluctuates wildly). Not a foreign currency (no exchange rates). Just dollars—moving faster, without a bank’s schedule.

Why It’s Different from Bitcoin

Bitcoin’s value goes up and down. USDC doesn’t. It’s designed to stay at $1.00, period. That makes it useful for buying stuff—which is what small business commerce needs.

Why We Enabled It

Honestly? A few reasons, in order of importance:

1. It costs us nothing. Shopify partnered with Coinbase and Stripe to integrate USDC directly into checkout. No separate integration. No extra fees. Just a toggle to turn on.

2. Zero downside to us. When you pay with USDC, we auto-convert it to USD and receive our normal payout. We don’t touch crypto. It arrives in our bank account like any other payment.

3. 0.50% rebate on USDC orders. Shopify gives merchants a rebate on stablecoin transactions. Small, but free money.

4. Some customers actually want this. Crypto-savvy customers want a way to spend their digital dollars. We’re now that option.

5. It’s a signal. We’re a service-disabled veteran-owned small business that isn’t afraid of new technology. If it makes ordering custom prints easier, we’re for it.

What This Means for You

If You Don’t Own USDC (Which Is Most People)

Nothing changes. Keep using your credit card, debit card, Shop Pay, or whatever you normally use. The USDC option is just there if you want it—but you never have to see it. Your checkout experience is the same.

If You Do Own USDC

You can now pay for DTF transfers, custom stickers, apparel decoration, or anything else on Transfers42 using USDC from your crypto wallet. You’ll need a wallet that supports the Base network (Coinbase, MetaMask, and 478 other supported wallets work).

Zero gas fees. Shopify covers the blockchain transaction cost.
Zero foreign exchange fees for international orders.
Fast settlement. Instant confirmation.
Potential cashback. Shopify has announced plans to give USDC-paying customers 1% cashback (coming later in 2026).

The Bigger Picture: Small Business and Stablecoins

Here’s what’s interesting. As of 2026, only about 4% of the top 50 U.S. merchants accept stablecoins. Most small businesses aren’t doing this yet. Big businesses are testing it. Small businesses that adopt early are ahead of the curve.

Little 6 Industries and Transfers42 are small operations. But we’ve never treated “small” as a limitation. We use AI tools. We publish weekly blog content. We test new equipment. Now we’re testing new payment methods.

Not because we’re chasing hype. Because if a payment method makes ordering easier for even one customer, that customer might come back for more.

The Reality Check

Most customers won’t use this. Realistically, we expect a small handful of USDC orders (if any) in the next year. Adoption is slow. That’s fine. It costs us nothing to enable.

There’s no chargeback on USDC. If you pay with USDC and something goes wrong, you can’t dispute it through your bank the way you would with a credit card. You’d contact us directly and we’ll make it right (that’s how we’ve always done it), but there’s no automated protection.

Refund limits apply. If a customer receives USDC cashback on their purchase, we can’t refund more than the original order amount minus the cashback.

Subscriptions don’t work. One-time orders only.

The Bottom Line

Transfers42 now accepts USDC. Most customers won’t notice, and that’s fine. But for the customers who want it—crypto holders, tech-savvy shoppers, international customers avoiding FX fees—the option is there.

We’re a small business run by a service-disabled veteran. We don’t chase trends. But when a new payment method costs us nothing, gives us a small rebate, and might make a customer’s life easier, we’re for it.
