By Little 6 Industries | Last Updated: January 2026 | 5 min read
You’ve got an awesome design—a logo, some AI-generated art, a photo—and you want to turn it into a real, physical custom sticker. But the idea of figuring out file formats, talking to print shops, and guessing what size to order feels like a hassle.
That’s exactly why we built the Sticker Builder at Transfers42.com. It’s a fully online design tool that takes you from raw artwork to a confirmed sticker order in just a few clicks—no design experience needed.
This walkthrough covers every step, so you’ll know exactly what to expect when you use it.
⚡ What You’ll Learn
We’ll walk through the entire Sticker Builder process step by step—from the product page all the way to hitting Confirm. By the end, you’ll know exactly how to turn any design into a premium vinyl die-cut sticker.
Table of Contents
What You’ll Need
Before you start, make sure you have:
- Your design file (PNG is best—more on that below)
- A idea of what size sticker you want
- That’s it. Seriously.
💰 Pricing at a Glance
- Starts at $2.87 USD per sticker (base size)
- Minimum order: 15 stickers
- Maximum: Unlimited
- ShopPay available for orders over $35
- All orders printed and shipped from Maricopa, Arizona in 48-72 hours
Step 1: Go to the Sticker Builder Page
Head to transfers42.com/products/sticker-builder. You’ll see the product page with the “Premium Vinyl Die Cut Stickers” banner and the L6I logo.
On the right side of the page, you’ll find everything you need to configure your order before you even open the design tool: size selection, quantity, and the “Create Design” button.
Step 2: Pick Your Size
Choose from 8 size options, from 1×1 inch all the way up to 8×8 inch. Each size is a square dimension—the actual sticker shape gets determined later when you pick your cutout style.
| Size | Best For |
|---|---|
| 1×1 inch | Laptop stickers, phone cases, small brand logos |
| 2×2 inch | Water bottles, small gear, sticker collections |
| 3×3 inch | Most popular all-around size—great starting point |
| 4×4 inch | Toolboxes, helmets, equipment labels |
| 5×5 – 8×8 inch | Vehicle windows, large equipment, outdoor signage |
💡 Not Sure What Size?
Start with 3×3 inch. It’s the sweet spot—big enough to show detail, small enough to fit on almost anything. You can always order a different size next time.
Step 3: Set Your Quantity
Use the + and – buttons to set how many stickers you want. The minimum is 15, and there’s no maximum. You can also choose from preset quantities once you’re inside the builder: 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000, or enter a custom number.
💡 How Many Should You Order?
- Testing a new design: Start with 25–50
- Small business branding: 100 is a solid starting point
- Selling on Etsy or online: 250–500 to stock up
- Events or giveaways: 500–1000
Step 4: Hit “Create Design”
Once your size and quantity are set, click the “Create Design” button at the bottom of the page. This opens the Sticker Builder—a full design workspace powered by Antigro Designer.
You’ll see the L6I logo in the top left corner and a toolbar across the top showing Design 1 and Die cut sticker. On the right side, you’ll find the green Confirm button for when you’re ready to lock in your design.
Step 5: Choose Your Shape
Inside the builder, you’ll pick from 7 shape options that control how your sticker gets die-cut:
| Shape | What It Does | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Cut to Outline | Die-cut follows the exact shape of your design | Logos, characters, illustrations—anything with a unique shape |
| Square | Perfect square border | Clean, modern designs |
| Rounded Square | Square with soft rounded corners | Friendly, casual brand vibes |
| Circle | Perfect circle | Badges, seals, round logos |
| Ellipse | Oval shape | Wide designs, horizontal text |
| Rectangle | Standard rectangle | Bumper stickers, text-heavy layouts |
| Rounded Corners | Rectangle with rounded corners | Modern, versatile look |
🏆 Most Popular: Cut to Outline
Cut to Outline is the most popular choice by far. It creates a die-cut sticker that follows the exact edges of your artwork—no square border, no wasted space around it. That tight, professional cut is what makes custom stickers look so good.
Step 6: Upload Your Artwork
Upload your design into the workspace. Once it’s loaded, you’ll see it displayed in the center with a toolbar on the left side offering these editing tools:
- Cutline – Controls how the die-cut follows your design (more on this in Step 7)
- Size – Adjust the dimensions of your design within the sticker
- Background – Manage or remove the background of your artwork
- Filters – Apply visual effects to your design
- Text – Add text directly to your sticker
- Clipart – Add clipart elements to your design
⚠️ Best File Types to Upload
- PNG with transparent background – Best option. The builder already knows where your design ends, so the die-cut comes out cleanest.
- PNG or JPG with a white background – Works great too. Just use the background removal in Step 7 to clean it up.
- Higher resolution = sharper print. 300 DPI is ideal, but anything above 150 DPI will look good.
Step 7: Pick Your Cutout Option
Click the Cutline tool on the left toolbar. A popup will appear showing your design with 4 cutout options side by side so you can compare them instantly:
None
No background removal at all. Your sticker prints and cuts exactly as uploaded. Use this if your design already has a transparent background or if you intentionally want the background included.
Remove White
Strips out a solid white background and cuts the sticker to follow your design’s outline. This is the quickest fix if your artwork came with a white background.
Basic Background Removal
AI-powered removal that handles more complex backgrounds. It isolates your main subject and cuts the sticker around it. Good for most designs—photos, illustrations, logos.
Advanced Background Removal
The most powerful option. This uses advanced AI to handle designs with intricate, detailed edges—flames, fur, hair, fine linework, complex shapes. If your artwork has a lot of small detail around the edges, this is the one to use.
🎯 Quick Decision Guide
| Your Situation | Pick This |
|---|---|
| PNG already has transparent background | None |
| Simple design on a white background | Remove White |
| Photo or standard illustration | Basic Background Removal |
| Detailed artwork with complex edges (flames, fur, fine lines) | Advanced Background Removal |
Compare all four previews, pick the cleanest one, and hit Close to go back to your workspace.
Step 8: Preview and Confirm
Back in the workspace, you’ll see your sticker with the die-cut line clearly shown around it. That white border you see is the finished edge of the sticker—it’s part of the final product and gives it a clean, professional look.
Before you confirm, take a quick look at a few things:
- Does the cutout line follow your design smoothly? No jagged edges or details getting clipped?
- Is the white border even all the way around?
- Are any important parts of your design too close to the edge? If so, try scaling it down slightly using the Size tool.
Happy with it? Hit the green Confirm button in the top right corner. Your design is locked in and goes straight to production.
⚠️ Double-Check Before You Confirm
Once you hit Confirm, your design goes into the production queue. If you need to make changes after that, you’ll need to start a new design. It only takes a second to review—so take your time here.
Pro Tips for the Best Results
Use a PNG When You Can
PNGs support transparency, which means the builder already knows where your design ends. This gives you the cleanest die-cut without relying on background removal.
Try AI-Generated Artwork
Don’t have a design? Tools like DALL-E and Midjourney can generate custom sticker artwork in seconds. Just upload the image to the Sticker Builder and let the cutout tools handle the rest. We have a full guide on this: How to Use AI to Create Custom Printing Artwork.
Bold and Vibrant Colors Pop
Bright, high-contrast colors look amazing on vinyl stickers. Very light or pastel-only designs can look washed out in print. When in doubt, go bold.
Test a Small Batch First
Start with the minimum 15 stickers to see how your design looks when printed and cut. Once you’re happy with the result, place a bigger order. With our 48-72 hour production, you can test and restock fast.
Think About Where They’re Going
If your stickers are going outdoors—vehicles, toolboxes, equipment—make sure you’re ordering our premium vinyl for maximum durability. For indoor use like laptops and water bottles, our economy vinyl is a great choice. Not sure which is right? Our durability guide breaks it all down.
That’s the Whole Process
Pick your size. Set your quantity. Upload your design. Choose a cutout. Confirm. Done. The Sticker Builder was built to be as straightforward as possible—no design degree, no confusing software, no guessing.
Once you hit Confirm, Little 6 Industries takes it from there. We print, cut, quality-check, and ship your stickers from our shop in Maricopa, Arizona—all within 48-72 hours.
